We are back adventurous music brethren and with a wonderful gig for you all. Join us at Stadium Rockdale on the 12th of November to hear the Jenna Cave Trio featuring Hannah James and Andrew Scott and a solo from Alister Spence. Doors from 7:30.
This is an intimate parlour gig so be prepared to get cozy. Unfortunately the only way in is up some stairs so please keep that in mind. We are so looking forward to listening all together.
Come hear Alister Spence play some solo piano at Stadium Rockdale, 7:30pm.
Pianist and composer Alister Spence is widely recognised for his ensemble playing with his own projects such as Alister Spence Trio, Asteroid Ekosytem (with Ed Kuepper), and Kira Kira (with Satoko Fujii).
However for the past ten years he has been working on developing a distinctive, personal approach to solo piano performance that welcomes co-incidence, happenstance, and the broadly sonic—along with the more conventionally pianistic—into an open, in-the-moment performance environment.
In 2020 Spence released his first solo piano album Whirlpool. The album was listed in the Best Releases of that year by New York City Jazz Record. Next year he will release a second solo album.
‘an aurally engaging, deeply emotional and utterly original world of sound … a breathtaking exploratory journey.’ Michael Christopher, Daily Local News
‘This is the talent of the pianist. We are constantly hooked, hanging on to our choices. The music breathes, stretches, undulates, resonates.’ Julian Aunos, Citizen Jazz

Come hear Jenna Cave’s Heart Songs at Stadium Rockdale.
In the last couple of years, local composer/bandleader Jenna Cave has found herself drawn to writing songs as a powerful means to explore, express and move through her emotional experiences during a period of deep loss, vulnerability and healing. Following on from her 2023 project “Grief, Hope, Love” with Kristin Berardi, Heart Songs is a new and more intimate performance vehicle for her songs. Themes to be traversed include the intersection of joy and grief, healing, loneliness, maternal love, and the power of hope; presented in contemporary jazz, bluesy, and pop-influenced harmonic settings.
Jenna Cave – vocals
Andrew Scott – piano
Hannah James – bass
